If so, this may be the opportunity for you! The Town of Bargersville, Indiana is seeking a Billing Customer Service Representative to join their team.
The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced, high call volume environment servicing Bargersville Utility customers and acting as the cashier for all Bargersville customers.
This position requires accuracy, attention to details, ability to handle a wide variety of tasks and a desire to help create a positive customer oriented atmosphere.
Work is performed under regular supervision of the Utility Billing Team Leader/Supervisor.

Essential
Responsibilities:
Perform cashiering services for all Town of Bargersville customers.
Be competent and accurate with all forms of payment and processing types; be able to instruct, assist and guide customers in payment methods, options and requirements Respond to internal and external customer communications.
Effectively communicate in person, by phone and through electronic communications on a daily basis; be able to perform customer service through the call center environment Be able and prepared to interpret and explain charges, policies, procedures, special programs, rates; be able to understand, research and explain business and process changes that affect these items Research and investigate general to moderately complex billing questions, problems and issues to reach resolutions; attempt to make determinations and resolve issues.
Understand when and how to escalate customer issues to the Team Leader or their directed assignee; Be able to understand how to develop an escalation packet, how to work with the Team Leader to resolve issues; and be able to understand how to maintain customer service updates and final escalation resolution communication.
Create and/or manage Utility customer accounts.
Perform data entry of utility information into software system; perform updates in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform account maintenance throughout each account interaction with the software.
Be able to create, maintain and close service orders.
Be able to accurately and efficiently communicate with the correct service departments when requesting service for Water or Electric utilities Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - Ability to analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions - Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required - Proficient in using computer systems and software applications - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - High school diploma or equivalent Job Type:
