Seasonal Sales Associate

JOB OVERVIEW
-The Sales Associate position at Samuels Jewelers provides customer service, assisting customers to locate and select merchandise, while providing each customer with an exceptional shopping experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Sells jewelry, working to meet or exceed established sales goals as set by Management
-Displays or demonstrates products and emphasizes salable features to customers
-Greets Customers and ascertains what each customer wants or needs
-Recommends, selects, locates and answers questions on product based on customers? needs and desires
-Quotes prices, credit terms and prepares paperwork
-Works within the guidelines of discounting to ensure margin is at company standard
-Provides customer service assistance with repairs, layaways and payment plans
-Checks with the Credit department concerning credit status of customers
-Maintains clientele book and updates regularly
-Receives and responds to telephone inquiries
-Makes set number of calls per day/week to sell company products and invite customers to events
-Promotes business by working the ?lease line?
-Maintains record of sales, prepares inventory of stock, and orders merchandise
-Receives merchandise, arranges merchandise in display cases and attaches sku tags
-Maintains knowledge of currents sales and promotions, policies regarding payments, exchanges and security practices
-Cleans shelves, counters, tables, vacuums, glass and other housekeeping as required
-Maintains excellent job knowledge of the processes, products, systems, compliance and company information, as well as, continual professional development through classes, conferences, seminars, workshops, etc
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS
Experience
-1 plus years? related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education
-High School Diploma required
Professional Skills
-Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation
-Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions Ability to work effectively with other Associates, Departments and Stores
-Ability to interact with a professional demeanor with staff, general public, and customers
-Effective prioritization and time management skills
-NON-PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-Change of tasks, performing multiple tasks simultaneously, working with others as part of a team, and irregular schedule/overtime may be required at times.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet as in a normal retail environment; infrequently moderate noise is experienced on the job site generated from machinery. Secured site facility, must adhere to company policy and procedures while on company property.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
